Who are the favourites for the Leeds United manager job following appointment of Nick Hammond?

Nick Hammond has joined Leeds United as their new interim football advisor as they continue their search for a new manager. We look at the three main contenders for the Elland Road hot-seat.

Leeds United have confirmed the appointment of Nick Hammond as their new interim football advisor as they continue their search for a new manager.
Hammond worked previously at Newcastle United as their interim transfer consultant - and saw the likes of Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn join the club.
A statement on Leeds United's website said: "Leeds United are pleased to confirm the appointment of Nick Hammond as the club's interim football advisor on a short-term contract.
"Hammond will help support the club during the summer transfer window."
The club also confirmed that the process for finding a new permanent director of football will be completed by October.
Planet Sport looks at some of the favourites for the Leeds United job and what they might bring to the club.

Daniel Farke

The former Norwich manager has a record of two Championship promotions on his record over a four-year period.
Farke offers the domestic knowledge that the club will be looking for with previous experience and success in the Championship.
The style of play that Farke typically used at Norwich was a gegenpressing tactic that focuses on quick transitions and the use of the 4-2-3-1 formation.
However, Farke holds the record for the most consecutive defeats in the English top division (by any manager or club) after losing his 15th consecutive match in September 2021.

Carlos Corberan

Corberan previously worked at Leeds United back in 2017 until 2020, managing the Under-21 team, and he was a part of Marcelo Bielsa's coaching staff.
The Spanish manager went on to manage Huddersfield Town, reaching the play-off final in 2022 but losing out to Nottingham Forest.
Corberan is currently with West Brom and managed to take the club from near the bottom of the table to pushing for a play-off spot over the course of the 2022/23 Championship season.
After working under Bielsa, he adopted a similar style of play with possession-based direct, fluid football and constant rotation to fill up any spaces on the pitch.
However, Corberan has not yet managed to gain promotion with a team in the Championship or achieve any Premier League experience.

Scott Parker

Leeds United had been interested in Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter but neither of them seemed to want to manage in the Championship.
However, Parker provides a more obtainable and realistic contender for the Leeds job with previous Championship success.
In 2020, Parker achieved success with Fulham, winning the play-off final against Brentford, and in 2022 he guided AFC Bournemouth to an automatic promotion with a second-place finish.
The former England midfielder was sacked by Fulham after relegation from the Premier League in 2021 and was also sacked by Bournemouth after a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool in 2022.
