West Ham midfielder Nikola Vlasic's move to Torino close to completion

Torino are close to putting Croatian international Nikola Vlasic out of his West Ham misery with a season-long loan deal.

The Italian club are reportedly on the verge of agreeing terms on a loan deal with a £12million option to buy, a lot less than the £25million West Ham paid for the then CSKA Moscow star last summer.

Napoli have also reportedly shown an interest but according to the Italian media Vlasic has told the big cheeses at West Ham he only wants to join Torino. Who like West Ham, wear a similar colour, and haven't won any silverware for over 20 years.

The 24-year-old joined West Ham on a five-year deal on the last day of the 2021 summer transfer window, in what many called a last-minute panic buy, as the club had failed to sign a new striker.

They were proved right as Vlasic, neither the striker the West Ham fans craved or a good enough attacking midfielder, failed to cement a regular place the first team, or impress the crowd in the cameo appearances he made.

Vlasic played 31 times in all competitions, scoring once against Watford at Vicarage Road, though the majority of those appearances were off the bench.
