West Brom sign Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah on 18-month-deal

West Brom have made their first signing of the January transfer window by adding 28-year-old Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah to their ranks.

Carlos Corberan has finally made his first signing as the Baggies manager, with Chalobah set to slot straight into the first team and increase the competition in the centre of the pitch.

The former England international was out of contract with Fulham in the summer so striking a deal whilst he still has some value makes sense for the London club.

The central midfielder has been linked with West Brom throughout the transfer window and Corberan will be hoping the addition of Chalobah will spark Albion's momentum after back-to-back defeats in the league and FA Cup.

Chalobah stated that he is "really happy to be here" and believes Coberan's squad have "so much potential" and "a talented group of players".

Corberan believes the arrival of Chalobah will "bring out the best in everyone competing for a place in the team".

The first match the 28-year-old could feature in is West Brom's upcoming outing against Coventry on Friday.
