Tottenham in danger of missing out on Adama Traore as Barcelona enter negotiations

Tottenham seemed set to seal Traore's signature this week, but now the north London club could lose out to Barcelona.

Barcelona have entered talks with Wolves and Adama Traore over a potential loan deal for the Spaniard.

Throughout January, rumours have rumbled on regarding Tottenham's interest in the Wolves winger, with a permanent fee of around £20m discussed.

The Birmingham-based side rejected an initial bid of £15m, and now with negotiations stalling, Barcelona have come calling.
Traore started his career at the Catalan club, working his way through the youth setup before making his first team debut in 2013. He made a total of four appearances before moving to Aston Villa in 2015.

With Barcelona set to lose wantaway Ousmane Dembele this month, Xavi seems to be eyeing up the 26-year-old as a replacement.

Bruno Lage has openly expressed his desire to hold on to Traore until the summer, but the player has refused to sign a contract extension, so Wolves seem happy to sell if their valuation is met.

Barcelona's approach is still being negotiated, but an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy for £29m in the summer is the opening proposal.
