Paul Pogba news: Three in the running to land France midfielder - if he leaves United

Out-of-contract star has still to make up his mind where he will be plying his trade in the 2022/23 campaign - but the options have narrowed.

Paul Pogba speculation has been in short supply this transfer window but that doesn't mean his future destination is any less intriguing.

Out of contract in the summer, Pogba has a big decision to make - but even the clubs chasing him do not know what the outcome will be.

The 28-year-old is not adverse to making tough decisions. Indeed he has done it at every turn of his career, from his first move from Le Havre to Manchester United, to leaving Old Trafford for Juventus - only to return again four years later.

In 2022 he will make maybe the biggest decision of all. The possibilities are believed to have narrowed to four, so let's take a look at the contenders.

Manchester United

Staying where he is is clearly the easiest option for Pogba, but is the will there to make him one of the highest paid players in the Premier League?
There is also an issue over whether Pogba wants to stay. Uncertainty over the managerial position certainly doesn't help.
Safe to say, him staying at Old Trafford is far from a done deal.

Real Madrid

Moving to the Spanish capital is believed to be something of a dream for Pogba and he has been a long-term target of president Florentino Perez.
Kylian Mbappe looks likely to be on his way to Madrid and there does look a big chance that he will follow his countryman to the Santiago Bernabeu.

There will certainly be little problem with his contract.

Paris Saint-German

Paris Saint-Germain are very well versed in landing big names, last year bringing in Gini Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi on free transfers.

Pogba has never played top-flight soccer in his native France and a chance to play in his home city of Paris might be too much for him to resist.

PSG can match any financial offer he may receive. Indeed, if it is a lucrative payday he is after then they would be the number one choice.

Juventus

Having returned to United, could Pogba do the same again and return to Juventus where he undoubtedly spent the most successful years of his career?
Max Allegri has returned to Juventus - so why not one of his best ever players?
Juventus are not the favourites to land Pogba but they certainly can't be ruled out.
