Robbie Savage makes surprise prediction as Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge

Planet Sport ambassador Robbie Savage expects fireworks as Chelsea take on Liverpool in a heavyweight Super Sunday clash.

There is a Super Sunday classic on the cards as Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge.

Former Premier League midfielder Robbie Savage expects goals in London, even though all four previous meetings ended goalless inside 90 minutes.

Both teams will be much changed with Chelsea and Liverpool keeping busy during the summer transfer window.

Previewing the match for Planet Sport, Savage said: "Game of the weekend, Chelsea start off their Premier League campaign against Liverpool at the Bridge.

"Chelsea. Who would've thought it. If people were making their predictions and saying Chelsea were going to finish in the top four it would be a good season - who would've thought that in the Premier League era we're saying an improvement for Chelsea would be getting in the top four.
"I think they can. I think they've got a fantastic coach in [Mauricio] Pochettino. He can galvanise squads. He can make players better. Just look at the Spurs team. But he needs time, Pochettino needs time.
"The big blow is losing [Christopher] Nkunku in pre-season, I thought he started well.
"I think Chelsea will finish in the top four this season ahead of Liverpool.

"Liverpool have recruited really well. Yes, they lost players but strength in depth is getting better for Jurgen Klopp who's done unbelievable things at Liverpool. I think this will be a high scoring encounter. I think both teams will score. I'm going to go 2-1 for Chelsea."

The Blues need to make a strong start as they look to put a hugely disappointing season well and truly behind them.
However, that's certainly easier said than done as they take on a rejuvenated Liverpool side.
