Marcus Rashford 'ready and focused' at Manchester United after recharging batteries over summer

Following a dismal season with the Red Devils in 2021/22, Marcus Rashford is feeling refreshed ahead of the new campaign under Erik ten Hag.

Marcus Rashford's drop in form was a major concern for Manchester United last season, with the 24-year-old going from scoring 21 goals in 2020/21 to just five goals last year.
It wasn't just Rashford who disappointed for the Red Devils, with United recording their lowest ever points tally in Premier League history.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was relieved of his duties after a poor start to the season, and Ralf Rangnick didn't fare much better during his short-term interim stint.
The 20-time Premier League champions have now moved on to Erik ten Hag as their first team manager, and the Dutchman will be eager to revitalise Rashford's form at Old Trafford.
Having missed out on the England squad for last month's Nations League fixtures, Rashford was afforded an extra long summer break to recharge his batteries and prepare for the upcoming campaign.
Rashford spent much of his time training and relaxing in the United States, and having now returned to training in Carrington, he insists he's feeling "ready and focused".
"We have got that feeling of excitement and that buzz around the training ground again and so it is definitely positive going into pre-season," said Rashford.
"I feel like I probably needed that time to switch off a little bit and me having that time enabled me to refocus a lot earlier than I expected to be honest.
"I feel ready and focused so when that first game does come it's good to know you have done almost six weeks of training beforehand. It will definitely be a positive."
United jet off to Thailand next week to start their pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, which includes matches against Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid.
With just over a month to go before their season-opening clash against Brighton on July 7, Rashford will hope to impress Ten Hag and regain his place in the starting line-up at Old Trafford.
