Marco Silva urges Armando Broja to embrace competition for Fulham starting spots

While acknowledging Armando Broja's potential, Marco Silva has underscored the need for him to vie for his position within the Fulham squad.

Rodrigo Muniz scored a brace, with Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Cherries defender Marcos Senesi also getting on the scoresheet, as the Cottagers won 3-1 against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Broja, who has joined Fulham on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season, started on the bench and when asked whether the Albanian should expect there to be competition for places, boss Silva said: "He knows that.

"I had a conversation yesterday with him about the situation, this is the Premier League.

"He has a lot of potential, we really believe in him. He was a player we looked at last summer as well and he knows that there will be competition for places. He only arrived last week before the Burnley game."

The victory was the Cottagers' first win since their New Year's Eve triumph over Arsenal and Silva believes the triumph was deserved.

The Portuguese added: "Overall looking at the game, I think we were the best team on the pitch. We were much better in the first half."
