Liverpool v Tottenham: Prediction, tips and bet builder as Reds make final Premier League title push

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, celebrates with Alexis Mac Allister
Liverpool will be looking to formally end the Premier League title race when they welcome Tottenham to Anfield for what could be a championship-crowning encounter this Sunday (1630 GMT).
Since taking pole position on matchday ten, Liverpool have put their foot firmly on the gas pedal and are now on the brink of their record-equalling 20th title.
On one hand, the Reds surpassed all pre-season expectations under new manager Arne Slot, who had big shoes to fill following the departure of club legend Jurgen Klopp.
On the other hand, this was not the most difficult season in which to win a title. All the other big guns such as Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Man United endured stuttering domestic campaigns – some worse than others.
Slot’s decision to keep things largely the same upon his arrival worked a treat. In fact, Klopp is probably sitting at home, regretting his decision not to stay another season. This could have been him.
While all the other teams dropped their levels from the previous season, Liverpool have remained about the same and are about to reap the biggest reward in domestic club football.
With just two defeats on their record and a massive 75 goals to their name, there is no doubt that the title is heading to a rightful owner.
Obviously, before Liverpool can officially call themselves champions, they must first navigate their way past Tottenham. Considering how poor Spurs have been this season, that shouldn’t be a difficult task.
Ange Postecoglou’s men have suffered the highest number of defeats from teams outside of the Premier League’s bottom three.
Their haul of 18 losses is just two fewer than 18th placed Ipswich Town – a side with a fraction of their resources.
To make matters worse for Postecoglou, he is on track to break an unwanted record. Tottenham last lost 18 games during the 1996/97 season under Gerry Francis, but their worst tally came three years earlier under Ossie Ardiles when they suffered 19 defeats – a number which Spurs could match before the end of this weekend.

There’s really no alternative other than backing Liverpool to win Sunday’s game. Not only do they have the motivation of winning the Premier League title in front of their home fans, but they’re also taking on a team that is well off form.
Only PSG and Nottingham Forest have managed to go to Anfield and win, while Fulham and Man United are the only ones to come away with a point.
Tottenham’s record at the famous Merseyside stadium isn’t great, with Spurs currently on a 15-match winless run at the ground.
To make matter worse, Tottenham have conceded exactly four goals in all three of their previous visits. This includes February’s 4-0 battering in the EFL Cup.
Unlike that last meeting, we are expecting both teams to get on the scoresheet. Liverpool have conceded goals in five of their last seven games, including three against Fulham at the start of the month.
In terms of specific player bets, we’re backing Alexis Mac Allister to chip in with either a goal or assist. The Argentinian has three goal contributions to his name in his last five appearances for club and country.
Lastly, we’re backing Richarlison to have 1+ shot. Tottenham will threaten at some point in the match and we’re backing the Brazilian to be in the thick of it.
