Liverpool saw a late January move for Fulham's Fabio Carvalho collapse in the final hours of the window, but Klopp is urging the side to maintain interest in the forward.

Liverpool ended the January transfer window with only one new signing, although they hoped Luis Diaz would be joined at Anfied by Fulham's young star Fabio Carvalho.

The two clubs reportedly found an agreement with hours remaining on deadline day, but it collapsed with not enough time to see the paperwork completed.

However, the 19-year-old Carvalho is out of contract in the summer, and as a clear admirer of his talent, Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring him in at the next opportunity.

Speaking ahead of the club's FA Cup tie with Cardiff City, Klopp insisted the club remain interested in securing his signature.
"We are still interested, it would be crazy if not. But at the moment it's not in our own hands," said Klopp.
"It was late before the window closed. It didn't work out but we will see what happens."
Ironically, it seemed right-back Neco Williams would be part of the deal, and while Carvalho's side of the agreement collapsed, the 20-year-old's loan move was completed anyway.
Reports suggest that Liverpool have already been in touch with the Cottagers and Carvalho himself to strike a deal in place for the summer window.
Fulham boss Marco Silva also addressed the collapsed move, stating Carvalho was happy despite staying put.
"Fabio is really happy. The day after that situation I saw him with the same smile on his face like always, and he enjoyed the training session, worked hard and that is the main thing for me.
"Fifteen days ago I said Fabio will be with us until the end of the season and I was sure that would happen because it was our decision and it was something I could control and the club could control as well and that is the reality now.
"I am 100 per cent sure Fabio will give his best for the club as he has done so far."
