La Liga news: Xavi understands Barcelona 'must win trophies' this season

Barcelona manager Xavi is well aware of the pressure to claim silverware this season, following some hefty spending from the Catalans.
Barca spent big to bring in Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha in the off-season, and now it's up to Xavi and his squad to deliver the prizes.
The Blaugrana currently sit top of La Liga's standings but they only have a two-point lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid after 14 games.
On the European front things aren't looking as bright, with Barca failing to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.
They will instead hunt for glory in the Europa League, where Manchester United stand in their way.
"I would sign up for a Liga-Europa League double!" Xavi told Barca TV.
"The club made a huge effort in the summer, with the famous levers [selling assets to fund signings], and we have to back that up on the pitch.
"The pressure in that sense is on me and I accept it. I am aware that we must win trophies this season."
