Leicester City v Man Utd: Prediction, tips and bet builder as Red Devils look to sink Foxes to new low

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim

Manchester United have the rare pleasure of going into a match as favourites when they travel to Leicester this Sunday night (1900 GMT).

It’s been a fascinating week for Man United with minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe defending the abolition of free lunches in a recent interview, before outlining plans for a new stadium which were received about as well as a week-late birthday card.

Things aren’t going to plan on the field either, with the club boasting one win from their last five Premier League games.

Leicester, of course, know all about Premier League struggles. The Foxes are on a one-way road towards relegation, with the team currently sitting six points adrift of safety and in the midst of a six-match losing run.

Former Man United man Ruud van Nistelrooy knows that his days at the King Power Stadium are numbered if results don’t improve. The Foxes manager joined his current employers after a good spell as interim United boss, which included a couple of emphatic wins over Leicester.

The two clubs are set for their fourth meeting this season, and first at the King Power. Here, we take a closer look at Sunday’s match and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Man United to win

It’s been a while since we backed Manchester United to win a game of football. However, with Leicester in absolutely dire form, we’ve got no other choice.

Ruben Amorim’s men held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw last weekend which is certainly a step in the right direction for the Red Devils.

The Manchester-outfit have also won their last five matches with Leicester, including a 2-1 win in the FA Cup back in early February.

The Foxes, meanwhile, are really struggling. Van Nistelrooy’s side have lost 13 of their last 15 games across all competitions.

Their only two victories during that period came against QPR in the FA Cup and Tottenham in the Premier League. Then again, beating Spurs nowadays isn’t that difficult.

Over 2.5 goals

Recent encounters between Leicester and Man United have certainly delivered in the goal department.

There’s been 16 goals scored across the previous four games, with over 2.5 goals landing in all of those matches. We’re backing that trend to continue on Sunday evening.

Mads Hermansen +3 total saves

With Man United expected to do the majority of the attacking in this game, we’re putting our chips on Mads Hermansen making 3+ total saves.

The Leicester shot stopper has conceded his fair share of goals in recent weeks, including four at home against Brentford in the last game at the King Power.

We’re backing an improving Man United side to keep the goalkeeper busy.

Under 11.5 corners

This fixture doesn’t really have the makings of a free-flowing match. Instead, we expect a far more attritional battle.

Man United haven’t won too many corners in recent Premier League games ad the same can be said about Leicester. With that in mind, we’re backing under 11.5 corners.
