Barcelona could consider selling Ansu Fati for financial relief - report

Barcelona are reportedly considering the sale of Ansu Fati, a 20-year-old forward and La Masia product.
FC Barcelona have been facing financial and political issues for the past couple of years, particularly with La Liga's Financial Fair Play rules.
This has made it difficult for the Catalan club to actively participate in major transfer windows. Despite trying various formulas to escape this, the financial issues continue to plague the club. To improve their current scenario, the club must make drastic decisions such as selling important players.
Barcelona are reportedly considering the sale of Ansu Fati, a 20-year-old forward and La Masia product, according to RELEVO.
The player has seen a decline in his performance statistics due to injury problems, recovery phase, and subsequent aftermath. It is said that Portuguese football agent Jorge Mendes has brought about a transfer offer for the young Spaniard worth €70-80 million.
The offer proposes a swap-deal between Fati and Ruben Neves, a midfielder from the Premier League side Wolves that Barcelona have been following. The deal also includes an additional €30million, bringing the total value of the package to €70million. Despite the significant proposal, Fati has no intention of leaving Barcelona, and until he agrees to move, no such transfer will take place.
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has also discarded the option of acquiring Ruben Neves. The coaching staff remains unconvinced with his profile and the qualities the midfielder would bring to the Catalan outfit. Barcelona management will now need to make tough decisions to improve their current scenario, but they also need to make smart choices that will help them in the long run.
Selling Ansu Fati may provide financial relief for Barcelona, but losing such a talented player may come at a high cost. It remains to be seen what the club's next move will be and whether they will continue to pursue a solution to their financial struggles.
