  • Jordi Alba Embraces Leadership Role As Barcelona'S Alejandro Balde Shines In His Place

Jordi Alba embraces leadership role as Barcelona's Alejandro Balde shines in his place

After a decade as Barcelona's left-back, Jordi Alba's position is being challenged by rising star Alejandro Balde.

While Balde has taken the starting spot for most of the season's big games, Alba's offensive contributions remain impressive.
However, he's embracing his role as an elder statesman and leader on the squad.
In a recent interview on Universo Valdano, Alba shared his perspective on the situation: "I'm not getting the minutes I'd like, but I'm doing my job and I have another role with my teammates. We all always want and think we can play more.
"I feel good, I'm proud, to have my head right. I know what I am as a player, what I have given and what I can give. I feel strong, when you feel good mentally and physically, everything is easier. I am a better player now than ten years ago."
Alba is also taking on the responsibility of mentoring and advising the new generation of stars emerging at Barcelona. "It's a very nice responsibility, I'm from home, I've been at the club for many years and I'm proud to represent this team.
"I like this role, helping the youngest, advising them, keeping their feet on the ground. When you've been helped, it's easier to help others," the 33-year-old Alba added.
Despite facing criticism in recent years, Alba has shown maturity in handling his new role on the team. Not all footballers respond well to being dropped, but Alba's leadership and positive attitude are a valuable asset to Barcelona both on and off the pitch.
