'It is everything you dream of', West Ham's Jarrod Bowen excited for first England camp

After a superb season with West Ham, Jarrod Bowen earned himself a call-up to the England camp, and the 25-year-old is eyeing up a spot in the World Cup squad.

Jarrod Bowen quickly became one of West Ham's key players under David Moyes this season.

The 25-year-old made the move to the London Stadium back in January 2020 and is now one of the first names on the Hammers teamsheet.

A remarkable output of 12 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League earned Jarrod Bowen not only a nomination for the Player of the Season award, but also has earned him a place in Gareth Southgate's England side.

Southgate named his squad for the upcoming Nations League matches last week, with Bowen making the cut.

With games against Hungary, Italy and Germany coming up, Bowen now has a huge opportunity to impress Southgate and book his place in the squad for the 2022 World Cup this winter.

When asked what his maiden call-up meant to him, Bowen replied "It is everything.

"It is everything you dream of when you're growing up and to get the call, obviously it is an honour and a privilege."

With just six months to go until England's World Cup campaign kicks off, Bowen pointed out that his aim is to be in the squad for the tournament.

"Of course I have thought about it," he added.

"For me it is not about just to come and go, it is my first camp. The Nations League is a great tournament as well and you want to be successful in every tournament."

England's trio of fixtures starts with a trip to the Puskas Arena Park on Saturday to face Hungary, before travelling to the Allianz Arena to play Germany on Tuesday evening.

Finally, the Three Lions host Italy at the Molineux Stadium on June 11, as Southgate's side look to top group A3 of the Nations League.
