Former Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett joins Rotherham on short-term deal

Rotherham have announced the signing of defender Tyler Blackett on a deal until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old joins the Sky Bet Championship side on a free transfer after leaving MLS side Cincinnati in November.

The former Manchester United player is vastly experienced in the second tier, making over 100 appearances for Reading between 2016 and 2020 before signing for Nottingham Forest for the 2020-21 season.
Blackett told Rotherham's website: "With the injuries in the squad right now it seemed like a good time to step in and help out."
Injury-hit Rotherham sit 18th but have won two of their last three matches and face a trip to Birmingham on Saturday.
Rotherham are currently 18th in the Championship and sit eight points above the bottom three.

Matt Taylor's men are unbeaten in three league games and they will be looking to continue that run when they take on Birmingham this weekend.
