Chelsea manager Graham Potter on the brink as bookies slash sack odds after Fulham defeat

Bookies have cut the odds on Chelsea manager Graham Potter to be the next Premier League manager to get the sack after a 2-1 defeat at Fulham in the West London derby.

Potter started the day at 6/1 and second favourite to be the next manager to be shown the door, but his price has tumbled further to 2/1 after another poor result to their neighbours.

Fulham broke the deadlock inside the first half as former Chelsea player Willian's shot was deflected past Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Chelsea equalised at the start of the second half when a Mason Mount free-kick was bundled over the line by Kalidou Koulibaly, with goal-line technology confirming the ball had crossed the line before Bernd Leno was able to gather.

It got worse for Chelsea when new signing Joao Felix's debut came to am early end when he was sent off for a high-footed challenge on Kenny Tete.

Fulham capitalised with the numerical advantage when Vinicius beat the Chelsea defenders to head home an Andreas Pereira cross at the far post.

Everton manager Frank Lampard is still the odds-on favourite in the next manager to be sacked market at 4/9.

West Ham boss David Moyes is third favourite behind Lampard and Potter at 6/1, with Southampton new manager Nathan Jones already at 8/1.

Earlier Potter had claimed that he had the toughest job in football.
"I think this is probably the hardest job in football. Because of the leadership change and because of the expectations and, rightly, where people see Chelsea. But I didn't think we'd lose 10 first-team players. That's just where we're at.
"The previous ownership, it's fantastic what they achieved. But this is a new era, a new chapter. Yeah, we're going through some pain, it's difficult at the moment. I understand the frustration and I appreciate the support."
