Union Berlin loan defender Tymoteusz Puchacz to Panathinaikos FC

FC Union Berlin have confirmed that Polish left-back Tymoteusz Puchacz has been loaned to Greek side Panathinaikos Athens until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Trabzonspor before returning to Union Berlin in June 2022, having won the Turkish League title.
It appears this year, Puchacz will get another chance to earn some more silverware as new loan club Panathinaikos are on top of the league table in Greece.
Puchacz was linked with six clubs across Europe for a January move before joining Panathinaikos on loan.
The Panathinaikos loan was confirmed by Union's managing director of sport Oliver Ruhnert, who said in a statement that the Bundesliga club were retaining Puchacz for future use.
"Tymoteusz is a player who urgently needs playing time," according to Ruhnert's statement.
"He has already proven his ability to us, and we want to give him the opportunity to prove himself now again in a strong team.
"Therefore, we have decided together that a loan currently makes sense for both sides. We wish him every success in Athens and hope that he will continue to develop there."
