The 25-year-old Leipzig midfielder is reportedly going to be joining Bayern having been linked to the club for some time.
The Kicker report claims the Austrian international's move to Munich in the summer "is as good as done".
Laimer's contract at Leipzig falls due at the end of the season and he can then join Bayern on a free transfer.
The midfielder joined Leipzig in 2017 and has made 167 appearances, scoring 11 goals and 18 assists.
Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann has been a long-time fan of Laimer's from his days at the Red Bull club and values the midfielder's versatility as well as his pressing intensity.
Leipzig currently sit third in the Bundesliga and will face Bayern in the league restart on January 20.
This season has not been ideal for Laimer as he has been beset by injuries, but he'll look to help Leipzig retain their Champions League position before jetting off to join Bayern next season.
