Barcelona keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund's teenage sensation Paris Brunner

Borussia Dortmund have a rich history of nurturing talented players in world football, especially in the attacking department - and the latest youngster to make waves is 17-year-old Paris Brunner.

Brunner has been a star attraction in the German youth leagues this season, scoring 22 goals in 22 matches in all competitions.

Journalist Josep Capdevila recently tweeted that Barcelona are among the clubs keeping a close eye on the young striker's development.

"FC Barcelona closely follows the evolution of Paris Brunner, centre forward for Borussia Dortmund's U19 team," he said.

"With just turned 17 years old, he measures 1.86. The club has had good reports on him for a couple of years."

Barcelona have reportedly been monitoring Brunner's progress for two years now, having been impressed by the player's physical profile which is similar to that of Robert Lewandowski.

Despite his youth, Brunner's numbers in youth leagues are indicative of his goalscoring prowess.

With Youssoufa Moukoko having already made his breakthrough at Dortmund earlier this season, Barcelona could be keen to pounce on an opportunity to sign the teenage sensation, especially after missing out on Moukoko earlier in the year.

However, Bundesliga side Dortmund will be hoping to secure the future of Brunner, who has shown immense potential at such a young age.

While Barcelona must be patient in their pursuit of the German youngster and allow him to make his professional breakthrough in the Bundesliga, Brunner's performances make him an exciting prospect for any club.
