Barcelona concerned over Antoine Griezmann’s current Atletico Madrid loan deal

Barcelona are understood to have concerns over the current situation regarding Antoine Griezmann.

The World Cup winner moved from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid in 2021 on a two-year loan.

The deal included a clause which obliged Atletico to pay their rivals £33million if the 31-year-old played at least 45 minutes in half of all the games he was available for.
Last season, the French international did so in 30 of 37 games, however this season, his playing time has been significantly reduced.
Since the start of the campaign, Atletico have played two games, with Griezmann coming off the bench in both.
The Frenchman scored in a 3-0 victory over Getafe, and was on the losing side a week later as his side were beaten 2-0 by Villarreal.
According to ESPN, Barcelona and Atletico have held a series of meetings to discuss the ongoing situation, with the Madrid outfit said to be looking for a better deal.
Griezmann spent five seasons in the Spanish capital before his move to Barcelona in 2019.
The player scored 133 goals in 257 appearances for the Colchoneros from 2014 to 2019.

Since returning to the club on loan, the forward scored nine times in 38 competitive outings.

During his time at Barcelona, the player found the back of the net on 35 occasions and made a total of 102 appearances.
His one piece of silverware with the Catalan giants was the 2021 Copa del Rey.
