Arsenal duo Charlie Patino and Folarin Balogun sent out on loan

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has sent midfielder Charlie Patino and forward Folarin Balogun out on season-long loans.

Blackpool have signed 18-year-old Patino, who scored on his Gunners' first-team debut last season, while Balogun will head to Stade de Reims in Ligue 1.

Balogun, who scored three goals in 21 appearances on loan at Middlesborough last season, has been with the Arsenal academy since the age of 10 and made his first team debut in the Europa League in October 2020.

Patino told the Tangerines' official website: "This is a great opportunity for me, and I think I'm ready to take this on.
"It's the next step of my career and I'm really excited to get going."
Head coach Michael Appleton added: "Charlie is a very talented boy and I'm delighted that Arsenal have trusted us to look after him and further his development.
"Charlie is one of the best midfielders in his age group and I can't wait to start working with him."
