The top rumours in the Bundesliga, since Thomas Tuchel announced he'd be stepping down at the season's end, revolve around identifying Bayern Munich's new manager.

In hindsight, Tuchel's announcement was wise, likely keeping him in his job for the next few months.

The form of outgoing multiple Bundesliga champions has certainly not markedly improved since Tuchel's announcement, culminating in his concession of the title to Leverkusen following another defeat.

Saturday evening's Der Klassiker loss at home against Dortmund leaves the North Rhine-Westphalia 13 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table with seven games to go, prompting Tuchel to concede the Bundesliga crown to Bayern's rivals following the 0-2 turnaround.

"After today's game there is no more need to count points. How many is it now? Congratulations to Leverkusen. We are very disappointed because we felt we did not bring the necessary passion to win the game. It was too little from us when it came to the basics."

Alonso's withdrawal from the future Bayern Munich management equation has caused a reshuffle of the betting odds offered on Tuchel's potential replacement among online sportsbooks in the UK.

With betting activity growing in this market as the ex-Chelsea boss's tenure nears expiry, punters are paying closer attention to these sites, especially their status on GAMSTOP.

"Betting sites not on GAMSTOP are online sportsbooks that are not licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. They are still available for players in the country and often hold licences issued in other jurisdictions," explains Techopedia's Gambling Editor Matty Treuberg.

"These platforms provide a workaround for GAMSTOP self-exclusions, which are irreversible."

Those sports bettors who have placed previous limitations on their betting activity via regulated UK sites can back their choice for the new Bayern Munich manager position without restriction.

While Xabi Alonso was in contention, the ex-Bayern, Liverpool, and Real Madrid midfielder was the bookmakers' firm favourite, but the market's odds are now more widespread, creating greater appeal to more punters.

Recent rumours link Austrian national manager Ralf Rangnick to the soon-vacant position -  oddsmakers are practically ignoring this left-field suggestion, however.

Who are the leading candidates for the Bayern Munich manager's position among non-GAMSTOP betting sites though?

    - Robert De Zerbi (Brighton) - 13/8

The Italian manager held in high regard by Pep Guardiola is the new favourite among bookmakers. Having led Brighton to sixth in the English Premier League last season, and a historic first appearance in European competition, De Zerbi has the pedigree and is reportedly open to moving to a bigger club.

However, with Liverpool also potentially interested in acquiring the 44-year-old's services, Bayern is not guaranteed he'll accept the role if it is offered.

    - Julian Nagelsmann (Germany) - 7/2

Nagelsmann held the Bayern managerial position before Thomas Tuchel. Currently in charge of the German national side, the 36-year-old's start in the international arena has been inauspicious.

Whether Nagelsmann returns to the Allianz Arena could depend on how Die Nationalmannschaft fare in the upcoming home 2024 European Championships.

    - Hansi Flick (Unemployed) - 10/1

Another ex-Bayern manager, Flick enjoyed great success with Die Bayern, leading the club to the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and UEFA Champions League treble in 2019/20.

The 59-year-old left Munich to take over the national team position vacated by long-time incumbent Joachim Löw after Euro 2020.

With Flick having a proven track record at Bayern, and currently without a club, he may be seen as a value bet for the role among many bettors.

    - Jurgen Klopp (Now Liverpool/Unemployed) - 25/1

Regarded as one of the top managers in world football, Klopp remains a rank outsider for the Bayern Munich position.

Having declared himself as "running out of energy" when announcing his impending departure from Liverpool, it is unlikely the uber-manager would be convinced to step into such a high-pressure role so soon.

Should Klopp decide to resume his management career soon, it would more likely be at the helm of the German national side.

With Antonio Conte, Sebastian Hoeness and Jose Mourinho (all 16/1), and Xavi Hernandez and Ruben Amorim (both 20/1) also favoured among bookies, Bayern Munich has a wealth of managerial talent available from which to approach a new manager.

Club President Herbert Hainer and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen will likely take time to decide on who is most suited to regain the Bundesliga title in 2024/25.
