Super League acca: St Helens face French test, Warrington and Wigan clash, Leeds host local rivals

Another big weekend in the Super League is upon us as Wigan Warriors head to Warrington and St Helens prepare for a tough challenge against the Dragons.

Just two points separate the top five teams in the competition in what is becoming an ever-intriguing battle at the top.

This weekend should provide more drama as this entertaining Super League campaign enters its latest round.

Here, we take a look at all six fixtures and provide a tip in each.

Huddersfield Giants vs Hull FC (Fri, 1945 BST)

Huddersfield Giants are in woeful form having lost five straight matches but even they are good enough to beat this atrocious Hull FC side.

Ian Watson’s men are fully expected to return to winning ways against a side which has lost 11 of 12 games this season. A handicap of -12 appears an absolute steal at around the 5/6 mark.

TIP: Huddersfield Giants -12 handicap

St Helens vs Catalans Dragons (Fri, 2000 BST)

St Helens have jumped to the top of the table courtesy of a couple impressive wins over Castleford and Leeds.

However, Catalans Dragons will pose a far tougher challenge this Friday night as the French outfit look to bounce back from their defeat to Warrington.

Saints are at home and we’re backing them to pick up their fifth win from six in what should be a close contest.

TIP: St Helens to win by 1-12 points

Warrington Wolves vs Wigan Warriors (Sat, 1500 BST)

The main event!

Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors are both flying and this game could be an absolute classic.

Wigan’s defence has been slightly tighter than Warrington’s in recent weeks and that could be the difference maker.

The Warriors have won three of their last four visits to the Halliwell Jones Stadium. With that in mind, Wigan to win a narrow contest is the way to go.

TIP: Wigan Warriors to win by 1-12 points

Hull KR vs Leigh Leopards (Sat, 1730 BST)

Leigh Leopards started the season slow but they’ve certainly found their groove in recent weeks with three wins from four.

Hull KR, meanwhile, bounced back from successive defeats to Warrington and Wigan by smashing London with a 50-point margin of victory.

Rovers are at home and they have enough quality to halt this Leopards resurgence. We’re backing the hosts to win in the outright market.

TIP: Hull KR to win

Leeds Rhinos vs Castleford Tigers (Sat, 1730 BST)

It’s derby day in West Yorkshire as Leeds Rhinos host Castleford Tigers at Headingley.

Leeds have been woefully underwhelming this season while Castleford are making the most of a tough situation.

On paper, the Rhinos should swat their local rivals aside, though with the hosts in poor form it might not be so easy. With that in mind, we’re sticking with a somewhat conservative -6 handicap.

TIP: Leeds Rhinos -6 handicap

Salford Red Devils vs London Broncos (Sun, 1500 BST)

Salford have endured a couple of back-to-back defeats to Wigan and Leigh.

However, the Red Devils should bounce back emphatically against bottom-of-the-table London who conceded 64 points at home to Hull KR last weekend.

TIP: Salford -36 handicap
