Our friends at Tipstrr have cast their collective expert eye towards Saturday’s racing action at Wolverhampton, and have plumped for one of the market leaders as their best value bet of the night.

20:30 Wolverhampton: Romeo & Juliet Handicap (1 mile 4 furlongs 51 yards)

Three short-priced contenders at the top of the betting suggest that the rest of the field will be looking for each-way crumbs, and certainly the likes of Morlaix, Further Measure and Victory have shown enough previous quality to be ready to stake a claim should any of the principals falter.

Of those market leaders, busy performer Lexington Knight is a course-distance winner who has tasted victory on both turf and synthetic tracks over the last couple of months, while the more lightly-raced Krona kicked off the year with back-to-back all-weather successes before less successful forays on turf during the summer.

Also returning to his preferred artificial surface is George Boughey’s Phantasy Mac, who is a course winner but has only just been stepped up to this longer trip, having previously been aimed at races between seven and ten furlongs.

This four-year-old filly was first tried over such a longer distance at Windsor 16 days ago, when she finished mid-division (but only three lengths off the winner) in a 0-95 handicap which was a far higher grade than this renewal.

She also sees her rating reduced a further two pounds to 78, the same mark at which she enjoyed her last all-weather success at Kempton last October, albeit over a much shorter one-mile trip.

She will be piloted by the capable Ross Coakley, who enjoys his visit to Wolverhampton, having landed 15 winners and a further 25 each-way places from his previous 79 rides here.

Suggested bet: Phantasy Mac in the 20:30 at Wolverhampton
