Wincanton each-way racing tip: Step up in trip set to suit Robber’s Bridge

Dorking Lad ridden by jockey Jamie Moore at Wincanton racecourse
Thursday afternoon’s Wincanton meeting appears to have saved its most open-looking handicap until last, which has got Tipstrr’s each-way specialist rubbing their hands in glee.
15:50 Wincanton: Bruton Handicap Hurdle (2 miles 3 furlongs 179 yards)
Jack Sprat and Ventara have performed best of those to have already been given an airing this season, with the former winning tidily at Huntingdon 18 days ago, while the latter also ran nicely to land the runner-up spot at Chepstow last month.
On that evidence they are justifiable market-leaders, but there are plenty of other carrying realistic claims of putting in a challenge, with Sami Bear, Makanao and Doyen For Money all bringing promising early-season form to the starting line.

The remaining ten runners are all available at double-digit odds, which makes Watchoutitscookie an interesting prospect after enjoying a course-distance victory here in the spring, and he should be better for blowing away a few cobwebs at Exeter a month ago.
However, the collective eye of Tipstrr’s each-way aficionados has been drawn inexorably towards Simon Earle’s five-year-old gelding Robber’s Bridge, who is looking to bounce back after failing to land the odds last time out 46 days ago.
Although yet to visit the winner’s enclosure in 14 attempts Robber’s Bridge is seldom out of the running, and his yard has kept him busy with selective outings throughout the summer, during which time he secured frame finishes in his monthly rides in June, July and August.
He was far from disgraced when sixth of 11 in that last run at Uttoxeter in early October, when regular jockey James Best was busy elsewhere, and the pair team up again here looking to rekindle the performance that saw them finish second of nine in similar conditions over this course and distance in March.
With four places widely available (as many as five in places), there is plenty of scope for a frame finish at a decent price here, and maybe even better if the market principles falter.
