Warwick each-way racing tip: Ernesto prepped for improved performance

Each-way specialist Richard Hutchinson, who runs Read Between The Lines on Tipstrr, believes Ernesto is ready to bounce back to form after being allowed to fly underneath the radar.

17:20 Warwick: Logicur Saumur Handicap Hurdle (3 miles 1 furlong)

The eight-year-old Ernesto was decent on the flat, where he postmarked over 100, and although he didn't translate all that ability to jumps he has still won three times over hurdles off marks as high as 113.

His latest win was last October off 112 over three miles and a furlong on good-to-firm ground at Hereford, but since then he has gone off the boil.

He seems to have a limit on his ability over hurdles, and it would appear that connections have been playing the game of running him to get some weight off his back.

They removed his usual headgear for a couple of runs and then ran him on unsuitable soft ground another two more times, which appears to have had the desired effect by getting him down to a mark of just 103 (from 118).

Suggested bet: Ernesto each-way in the 17:20 at Warwick
Today looks like it could be his first good run on his preferred better ground, as they have removed the inexperienced conditional jockey who had been in the saddle for his last four bad runs and bought in Charlie Todd instead.
This coincides with better underfoot conditions and a mini-break of 73 days, which could also suit as he runs well fresh (including winning).
With his usual headgear applied and conditions to suit, the 33/1 opening price was way too big for his chances and I recommend a point each-way at anything from 16/1 upwards.
Suggested bet: Ernesto each-way in the 17:20 at Warwick
