Taunton each-way racing tip: Inferno Sacree to prove too hot for rivals

Taunton racecourse
Taunton offers us a decent looking card for a wet Thursday in December, and this handicap looks as competitive as any, with eleven capable hurdlers going to post.
14:40 Taunton: Classic Collection Holidays Handicap Hurdle (2 miles 3 furlongs)
The four market leaders are separated by just a single betting point, which suggests a vulnerability among all of them at a best price of around 5/1.
In just an open market, the safe option might be to plump for the reliable partnership forged by Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden, for whom Individualiste looks kindly treated to build on a couple of promising recent outings following an extended 19-month lay-off.
American Sniper is the only starter able to boast of a last-time-out success (at Cheltenham a month ago), while Amelia’s Dance won here last year and has looked in good shape when landing two runner-up spots at Wincanton and Kempton over the last few weeks.
Anyone put off by the uncertainty of the principals at those unappetising odds might be tempted by the each-way value offered elsewhere, with both Bashful Boy (ran well over course and distance two weeks ago) and Samuel Spade (fourth of 10 at Kempton 17 days ago) shaping up for a bolder bid this time around.

Getting our final nod, however, is Inferno Sacree, whose double-digit price has caught the eye of many of Tipstrr’s each-way specialists, who fancy his chances of making the frame, especially with four places available in some quarters.
The form that brought a hat-trick of wins at Plumpton in early 2023 continued in the spring with a couple more successes at Perth and Newton Abbot, and although he looked out of sorts when last seen at Cartmel in July, he has done enough to suggest that he is capable of bouncing back after his subsequent five-month break.
Useful claiming jockey Tom Buckley is hardly snowed under with bookings, which is a shame as he no stranger to the winner’s enclosure, having guided stablemate The Impostor there three times in the last month.
The yard of trainer Nigel Hawke is saddling horses in fine fettle at the moment, with three winners from his last five completed outings, including The Impostor (9/4) on Saturday, Ballymacgroarty Boy (11/2) on Tuesday, and 12/1 shot Sindabella at Exeter on Wednesday.
- Suggested bet: Inferno Sacree in the 14:40 at Taunton
