This handicap for female amateur jockeys could throw up a surprise or two, and there is particular interest in a promising gelding being eased back into action following a lengthy lay-off.

Top of the betting and bottom of the weights, Foursome looks likely to be sent off as the firm favourite, and she will be tough to beat off that mark if she can replicate the performance that saw her land her first success in a 7-runner-apprentice handicap at Nottingham nine days ago.
Looking useful at a double-digit price is course-and-distance winner Shifter, who broke her duck at Ayr in August and got her nose in front again in a 14-runner handicap over this very trip 13 days ago.
Get the Tipstrr nod, however, is Lucinda Russell’s Stockbridge Tap, who is being nursed back into action following a 20-month lay-off during which this previously promising six-year-old underwent wind surgery.

Suggested bet: Stockbridge Tap each-way in the 17:38 at Redcar
