Punchestown Festival tips: SG Handicap Hurdle - Brookie and Garrybello looking to make the frame

The third day of the Punchestown Festival kicks off with a handicap hurdle to test anyone’s pinsticking abilities, so hopefully Tipstrr’s team of racing pundits can help narrow the field for us.

15:40 Specialist Group Handicap Hurdle

Contested over a slightly extended two-mile trip, this competitive renewal was won 12 months ago by 10/1 shot Broomfield Hall, who finished a length clear of the 100/30 favourite Gin Coco, with this year's year's early market leader Golf Marin back in fourth.

Golf Marin has since been withdrawn, and among the remaining 25-runner field it's not easy to choose from any of the five market leaders, any of whom hold claims of being in contention without carrying much betting value.

Tipstrr's punters prefer the look of Brookie, who is currently available at a double-digit price and has been progressing nicely throughout the current season.
A win over hurdles in November illustrated his potential, and he was far from disgraced when sixth of 19 at Fairyhouse earlier this month.

The booking of Liam McKenna, with his five-pound claim, adds extra value and should help his prospects of making the frame.

Suggested bet: Brookie each-way in the 15:40 at Punchestown

Lower down the betting but higher in the weights is Garrybello, who won both of his completed races in his debut season (unseated and pulled up in the other two).
He has yet to recapture that form this season, but did show signs on his last outing at Cork 18 days ago when finishing a close-up fifth of 14, and could improve again here if his claiming rider's allowance can help off-set top weight.
