Perth best bet: Course winner Half Shot to land for Iain Jardine

Tipstrr's pundits have been attracted to a competitive handicap chase north of the border with plenty of top quality jumps talent lining up at Perth.

16:17 Perth: Bet Boost At bet365 Handicap Chase (3 miles)

There's a hugely competitive field in this handicap chase, with the market leaders tightly packed in the betting.

Brandy McQueen is one of the main contenders and has attracted plenty of fanfare in the Tipstrr camp.

A series of disappointing results over both types of obstacles doesn't offer too much hope for Harriet Graham & Gary Rutherford's gelding, however he did grab a win at Kelso in October when fresh.

He is a course-distance winner but that came back in 2022 with the company of lower quality, so there's better value elsewhere.

Nicky Richards' charge No Regrets has been in good form and has the potential to extend that run at Perth.

No Regrets resumed with a win at Kelso last time out with a narrow win over the reopposing Everyday Champagne, beating his rival by just a neck.

Everday Champagne will also be in contention, with the eight-year-old nabbing co-favourite status in the early stages of the betting.

The second at Kelso was his last outing and that was when fresh so there could be scope for improvement here.

He also won at Ayr in November and before transferring to Nick Alexander's yard, he had three seconds on the spin.

However, the Tipstrr camp are opting for Half Shot, with Iain Jardine's experienced 10-year-old a course winner.

That came back in 2022 over a shorter trip and while his recent form has been sketchy, he had a fantastic 22/23 campaign.

His only win of his 23/24 campaign came at Musselburgh in November, but he grabbed two wins and three seconds in his seven meetings.

Jardine's stable has a 14 percent strike rate this calendar year while jockey Dylan Johnston has had six frame finishes from his 19 runs this year.

If Half Shot gives it his full shot then he has every chance of finding the winners enclosure once again.

Suggested best bet: Half Shot in the 16:17 at Perth
