Nottingham best bets: Great Blasket to live up to top billing while All The King's Men contends

The Tipstrr camp have been feasting their eyes on a competitive Sunday card at Nottingham and they have picked out this particular handicap which is offering plenty of betting value.

16:25 Nottingham: Sky Bet Acca Freeze Handicap (1 mile 1/2 furlong)

In the early betting, Great Blasket has been dominating the conversation, with Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole's four-year-old looking to make it four wins on the spin.

Following a good all-weather campaign in the winter, he has started the Flat season brilliantly, with wins at Yarmouth and Newmarket.

He certainly looks in good shape and has certainly been in winning form while his main rival in the betting First Officer has had mixed fortunes recently so that bodes well for Newland & Insole's gelding.

First Officer kicked off his Turf campaign with a win at Windsor over a month ago, but failed to back up that impressive performance at Lingfield, finishing fourth out of seven.

If you're looking for a single bet, Great Blasket is a good price at 3/1 considering that he's in the middle of a great spell of form.

Suggested best bet: Great Blasket in the 16:25 at Nottingham

There's also plenty of each-way value in this contest with nine coming to post.

Tipstrr's each-way aficionados think that All The King's Men has the qualities to make the frame.

George Boughey's six-year-old comes into this one fresh after a near-three-month break.

His last few races were disappointing with a trio of poor results in Meydan, however if he can rekindle the form of last season then he stands a chance.

Last year he claimed a win at Wolverhampton and had top-three finishes at Thirsk, Epsom, Kempton and Newcastle.

Tommie Jakes is a good booking, with the jockey having a 13 percent strike rate in 2024 and 35 percent of his runners have yielded top three finishes, so at 17/2 All The King's Men is definitely worth a punt.

Suggested next best bet: All The King's Men each-way in the 16:25 at Nottingham
