Newmarket racing tip (15:35): Back Buick and Dance Sequence to continue winning ways

The flat season is underway and our focus here is on the 15:35 at Newmarket on Wednesday, which looks like one of the standout races.

15:35 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes

The sun is shining and we have some flat racing at Newmarket to look forward to on Wednesday, including the 15:35 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes.

Dance Sequence is the odds-on favourite in a field of 10 with Aidan O’Brien’s Matrika and Roger Varian’s True Cyan priced up as the only likely challengers.

That could be seen as presumptuous as Spiritual has struck over this distance and looks like a horse with plenty of potential.

Matrika has shown improvement in each outing since a debut win at Curragh, finishing second among better company Ascot and producing another win at Curragh in her toughest outing to date.

True Cyan has plenty of room for improvement and we expect to see some here, and although she likely has a mile in the locker, her Guineas price is 33/1 compared to 4/1 for Dance Sequence, which perhaps highlights the difference in expectations.

We’ve seen Dance Sequence win twice at Newmarket with William Buick in the saddle, which helped improve his strike rate on the Rowley course to 30%.

She looked suitable for a Guineas trial on her last outing and if she can come through Wednesday unscathed, she could be the clear favourite to take the 1000 Guineas.

Suggested bet: Dance Sequence to win the 15:35 at Newmarket
