Newmarket each-way tip: Dual winner Zabriskie Point ready to kick on again

Master Of The Seas ridden by William Buick wins Earl of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket

There’s plenty of winning form among this two-year-old line-up, and the collective eye of Tipstrr’s racing experts has picked out a contender who has been attracting plenty of support in the betting.

15:35 Newmarket: Somerville Tattersall Stakes (7 furlongs)

With four market leaders all priced between 3/1 and 5/1, there appears to be little room for any of the remaining eight runners to make an impact, but that top-heavy market only increases their each-way potential.

True enough, the Aiden O’Brien-trained Military looks like he’ll take all the beating after winning with plenty in hand on debut at Naas two weeks ago, and he now has the additional boost of being piloted by Ryan Moore.

Legend Of Time and Eben Shaddad boast a similar one-for-one record, as indeed do Son Of Man, Change For Good and Cross The Tracks, so it doesn’t take a racing genius to work out that something has to give here, and some of those winning debutants won’t even make the frame this time.

With all of the remaining runners also having visited the winner’s enclosure in their limited outings, this clearly is a wide open race that offers more scope than the market might suggest.

Of those, the Charlie Hill-trained Zabriskie Point has attracted most attention in the Tipstrr camp, and he is another to have won impressively on debut when leaving nine runners in his wake at Leicester in May.

Unlike some of his rivals here, Zabriskie Point has gone on to build on that form, returning from a 10-week break to finish third of nine (a nose and a neck behind the winner) at Salisbury in August, before showing his handicapping potential when coming fourth of 16 at York’s Ebor meeting.

Suggested bet: Zabriskie Point each-way in the 15:35 at Newmarket

His progress was confirmed last time out ten days ago, when he defied a six-pound penalty as the odds-on favourite at Thirsk, and stayed on gamely to ensure that his second success was never in doubt.

William Buick was at the reins that day, but Zabriskie Point’s chances won’t be harmed by being ridden here by Kevin Stott, who arrives in good nick after landing a 15/2 winner at Nottingham on Tuesday and a couple of runners-up from his three rides at Goodwood on Wednesday.

The bookies had Zabriskie Point at 14/1 across the board first thing this morning, but that has now firmed up dramatically to as low as 8/1 in places, suggesting Tipstrr’s pundits aren’t the only ones to fancy his chances here
