If the betting market is a reliable measure then the firm favourite Sydney Bay would need to falter under the five-pound penalty he earned for his back-to-back wins over this course and distance last month.
Six of his nine rivals are not attracting much support, although Two Summers is one of only two to be making her season debut after an extended break, and she did put in a decent performance when fresh for his first run of the year in April.

The word in the Tipstrr camp, however, is that the favourite’s main threat is likely to come from Alan Brown’s Blackcurrent, who has put together an eye-catching string of results since emerging from a 107-day break in August.
A six-time winner at this venue, this seven-year-old gelding has scored five consecutive frame finishes, peaking with a win in a 13-runner handicap over this course and distance in September.
Two subsequent outings here have both resulted in close-up runner-up spots, both by less than a length, including last time out a week ago when he was just three-quarters of a length behind the favourite here, Sydney Bay.
The latter’s five-pound hike could be just what could give Blackcurrent the edge this time around, and if he can overcome a wide draw and get a clear run under Paula Muir, then he could be the best-value bet here
Suggested bet: Blackcurrent each-way in the 20:30 at Newcastle
