Newcastle each-way tip: Dual course-distance winner Thaki can bounce back off easing mark

Newcastle Racecourse
There’s plenty in with a shout in this six-furlong sprint, and there’s a buzz in the Tipstrr camp that a previous Newcastle winner could be ready to bounce back at a tasty price.

The betting market and the form book is leaning towards a two-horse race here, with El Hibri and Nazca both lining up with a recent win apiece under their belts.
El Hibri won impressively at Southwell two weeks ago and remains well-treated at the bottom of the weights here, while Nazca looked in good shape over this very trip 15 days ago, seeing off 11 rivals in a return to the kind of form that landed a tasty four-timer during the late summer.
Asadjumeirah and Kath’s Toyboy have also enjoyed success over this trip here and could have a say in proceedings, but the horse to attract most attention among Tipstrr’s each-way specialists is Katie’s Scott’s seven-year-old Thaki.

Twice a winner over this course and distance in 2022, he enjoyed a fruitful summer last year, landing two handicap successes at Hamilton and Ayr, and then finishing second of 10 when returning to Newcastle’s six-furlong track in November.
Although not at his best in three December outings, the handicapper has duly offered a little help, and with the further boost of William Pyle’s five-pound allowance, Thaki will now start off his lowest mark since landing a hat-trick of wins in 2021.
Pyle notably had only two rides here on Thursday and piloted them both to victory, so he is clearly a jockey on the rise, and with Thaki running without headwear for the first time in three seasons, he could well exceed the expectations of his double-digit price here.
Suggested best bet: Thaki in the 19:15 at Newcastle
