Newcastle each-way racing tip: Honour Your Dreams looking to exploit drop in grade

With the favourite needing to improve off his current mark, Tipstrr pundit Steve Jones believes there's better value to be found from deeper in the betting market.

Although still a maiden on the all-weather, Honour Your Dreams has had only six opportunities in this sphere, two of which were in Class 4, so he has plenty of scope for further progress as an all-weather sprinter.
His most recent all-weather run, just ten days ago, saw him finish a solid fourth of nine in a higher-graded Class 4 contest over Southwell’s straight five furlongs, missing second place by just half a length.

Now two pounds lower and competing against much lesser opposition than he faced on that occasion, the four-year-old must hold decent claims, especially as today’s rider takes off an additional seven pounds.
Honour Your Dreams also has some decent course-distance form to his name, having contested this trip in November, finishing runner-up of 10 in Class 5 company off a mark of 67.
The only one to beat him, Jenever, then went close next time out when racing off nine pounds higher, so he was clearly very well treated when beating Honour Your Dreams, who in turn is now a pound lower, with his rider taking off another seven.
From a decent draw in stall 7, Honour Your Dreams can take advantage of this drop in grade, with a straight, uphill five furlongs proven to suit (his top three minimum-trip performances all came under such circumstances).
Suggested bet: Honour Your Dreams each-way in the 19:00 at Newcastle

Of the others, Rory has to be of interest in an 11-strong older-horse sprint which features only two previous course-distance winners, as this course specialist has recorded his last two wins here and he also has three other near misses at this favoured track.
The best of those saw him beaten by less than a length in a Class 5 when racing off 68 (he was also beaten a nose off 68 in a Class 5 over six furlongs here), so he is well worth considering off his current mark of 65 with today’s rider taking off another three pounds.
His stall 10 draw is another potential plus, with the runners very often coming over towards the near side on the straight track here.
Next Best bet: Rory each-way in the 19:00 at Newcastle
