Newcastle best bet (1652): Jack Sparowe to find the winning formula

Newcastle has a cracking day of all-weather action on Sunday and the Tipstrr camp have seen plenty of value in this competitive handicap.

16:52 Newcastle: Download The Raceday Ready App Handicap (Div II) (1 mile 2 furlongs)

Yeoman is the early market leader and he returned from a break with a solid showing last time out, when fourth at Lingfield.

James Fanshawe's gelding displayed some fantastic form last season with three wins at Wolverhampton and a second at Southwell, albeit over slightly shorter trips.

The only other time he has gone over this trip was a disappointing run at Chelmsford in August, so it will be intriguing to see if he can improve on that outing.

If the form book is your guide then Prince Achille is the one to watch and with odds of 13/2, he offers plenty of value.

Back-to-back wins over this course-and-distance show that he has an abundance of talent, but that was at Class 6 level and this time he will be with more esteemed company.

He's definitely worth an each-way punt with 10 coming to post and places up for grabs, but he may find it difficult to keep in touch with the leaders.

Our selection for this one is Jack Sparowe, with John Butler's five-year-old showing plenty of potential last season.

He resumed after a winter break last time out with a solid fifth, where he was beaten by four lengths by Kotari.

Last season he had impressive wins at Bath and Kempton and the win at Bath came on his second outing after a break, which shows that there's precedence for improvement once he has miles in his legs.

Luke Morris is a solid booking, with the jockey finding the winners enclosure 23 times in 2024 so far and 33 percent of his runners have found the top three.

With odds of 6/1, we think that Jack Sparowe has the ability to contend and if you opt for him, then you could land yourself a tidy profit.

Suggested best bet: Jack Sparowe in the 16:52 at Newcastle
