(Please be aware selections could become non-runners after article's first publication)

15:05 (Newcastle) Beneficially Yours

Beneficially Yours showed plenty of promise on initial rules attempt managing a good third in a 2m1f novices hurdle at Carlisle during December.

The runner-up, Cracking Rhapsody, has won twice since boosting form, so the Donald McCain six-year-old will be a leading player.

Give Me A Boom went well at Southwell when second over this distance in a maiden hurdle. Could go close again.

Raceview Road has been showing ability in recent outings. Posted a nice UK rules debut start finishing runner-up on testing ground here. Open to further improvement.

16:05 (Newcastle) Nab Wood

Nab Wood has been on a roll in recent months and another victory could be on the cards in the quinnbet.com Handicap Hurdle.

The seven-year-old did not show too much in his first couple of starts but has finally found his stride this winter, finishing second at Ayr in December before registering successive wins at Kelso.

While he raced keenly on the first occasion in January, Nab Wood still hacked up by a comfortable 12 lengths which saw the handicapper give him an initial mark of 114 last month.

That perch proved well within his compass though, with new tactics employed as Nab Wood was held up in the early stages before breezing into contention and eventually coming home just over three lengths clear.

Nicky Richards’ charge has been raised 8lb for that victory, but the manner of his wins suggests there could still be something left to come.

16:35 (Newcastle) Le Grand Vert

Le Grand Vert ran well at Wetherby when a good second tackling a higher level 3m handicap chase, so is a leading contender in the quinnbet Best Odds Guaranteed Novices' Handicap Chase.

Has Troke showed plenty of ability at Lingfield on heavy going earlier this month finishing third in a 2m6f handicap chase. Handles this ground and holds every chance.

Euchan Falls makes for appeal following a runner-up effort in a similar graded 3m handicap chase at Ayr.

17:05 (Newcastle) Rivers Corner

Rivers Corner bids for a hat-trick following an easy 23 length victory at Wincanton on testing ground over 3m1f preceding a 3m handicap hurdle success at Taunton.

Glory Hights went well here finishing a good third in a 2m6f handicap hurdle on heavy going during January. Should go on the shortlist as is set to build on that effort.

Adveram showed ability at Ayr when second contesting a 2m3f maiden hurdle. Makes for appeal with further improvement anticipated.

Newcastle selections in full:

NEWCASTLE: 2.35 Milan Echo, 3.05 Beneficially Yours, 3.35 Hello Judge, 4.05 Nab Wood, 4.35 Le Grand Vert, 5.05 Rivers Corner.
