There’s certainly plenty in with a realistic shout here, as market principals The Conqueror, Sunset in Paris and Star Of Epsom all appear capable of leading the way home, with the latter in particular boasting a strong record at this venue, including a course-distance success last time out 15 days ago.
Offering arguably more enticing value is the well-travelled Uther Pendragon, who returned from a rare two-month break 13 days ago to finish a close-up second of 12 at Southwell, and interestingly it was around this time last year that he won over this course and distance to kickstart an impressive three-timer in the space of just a week.

Should any or all of the market leaders falter, then the four places that are widely available opens the door for some each-way value further down the market, where the pick of an unlikely bunch appears to be the Mark Pattinson-trained Rainbow Sign, who has been earmarked to outrun his odds by some of Tipstrr’s most popular each-way pundits.
Winless in 14 outings since landing a seven-furlong sprint at this venue in August last year, he did show glimpses of that form when finishing a 40/1 second of 11 in heavy going at Windsor in October.
That effort earned him a 51-day break, from which he emerged looking in need of the run when seventh of 10 over a mile here a week ago, and his quick turnaround could suggest that was very much a cobweb-blowing exercise.
For the first time Rainbow Sign’s saddle will be occupied by the dependable Trevor Whelan, who boasts a good record at Linfield, where his 140 rides over the last five seasons have left him 36 units in profit against the bookies, thanks to 17 winners and a further 26 placed efforts.
