Lingfield each-way tip (1627): Improvement on the cards for Iftikhaar

There are currently three leaders in the market, Stopnsearch, Tawtheef and Moon Over The Sea. 

Stopnsearch is currently the favourite, having won over the same journey at Windsor, but that was almost three years ago.

However, he has improved recently with back-to-back fifth place finishes at the same course, but over a slightly longer distance, so the reduction in distance here may improve chances of a first win in almost three years. 

Tawtheef and Moon Over The Sea will be contenders, especially the latter, who won on his last outing at Wolverhampton. 

While Tawtheef returned at this course-and-distance with a placing last time out after a period away and will be hoping to go one better this time.

Despite the strong credentials amongst the market's leading trio, there is good each-way value to be had with bookies paying out on three places in this race. 

Iftikhaar is our main selection in this one, with a price that offers plenty of each-way value and he has history over this course-and-distance. 

His recent outings have hardly been startling, but he did come second over this course-and-distance in October 2023 and the same jockey who was on the saddle for that race will be taking the reigns here. 

Daniel Muscutt could prove to be a good booking, with 40% of his outings in 2023 producing top three finishes.

Meanwhile, trainer J R Jenkins has kicked off the year in style, with two wins under his belt in January, which will no doubt have boosted optimism ahead of Iftikhaar's Lingfield run.
