Leicester best bet: Drop in trip should suit Believe You Me

The Tipstrr team guided us towards a couple of each-way places on Monday, and they now have high hopes for a smart young filly in this competitive seven-furlong spring at Leicester.

17:07 Leicester: Next Meeting at Leicester Races Handicap (7 furlongs)

At the time of the writing, there were only two betting points between the top eight in the betting market, all of whom offer an uncertain mix of both vulnerability and value at between 6/1 and 8/1.

Royal Bliss is the only runner to arrive off the back of a last-time out success, having landed a career-best 10-runner handicap at Yarmouth 19 days ago, while Bird Of Play has shown arguably the most consistency this season with a win and three frame finishes in his last six outings.

The Cruising Lord showed impressive form earlier in the summer and might ready to defy top weight under Tom Marquand, but we’re going to suggest that the best value lies with Marquand’s better half, Hollie Doyle, who is booked to take the reins of three-year-old Believe You Me for the first time.

This capable filly won with room to spare in a low-key five-runner affair over the same distance at Chepstow in late July, but did not seem to relish the extra furlong when tested over a mile last time out here 15 days ago.

She was up against some proven handicappers over a longer trip that day, so this step back to her preferred distance in slightly lesser company should give Doyle something to work.

Heather Main’s in-form yard won with their only runner on Monday, and has enjoyed six top-three finishes out of ten attempts over the last couple of weeks.

Suggested bet: Believe You Me each-way in the 17:07 at Leicester
