Kempton top racing tip: Flag Carrier ready to lead from the front

With barely a couple of points covering the top four in the betting, the jury is clearly out deciding where the best value lies in this competitive-looking seven-furlong sprint.

Indeed, the bottom half of the market is made up of six runners available at 25/1 or above, and while it might be tempting to back one of them making the frame, the best each-way option would appear to be Dandy Sands, who came a close-up fourth here 12 days ago, and whose bottom weight is further enhanced by the three-pound claim of Conor Planas in the saddle.
The starting favourite is likely to be James Fanshawe’s Enpassant, who has made the frame in all of his last six starts, including one win, while Magic Fluke has also finished in the top three on his last three outings, but they were all over six furlongs at Newcastle, although the demands of that uphill track could bode well for this step-up in trip.

Gaining the most traction within the Tipstrr camp, however, is Harry Eustace’s promising gelding Flag Carrier, who will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing outcome at Southwell last time out 19 days ago.
The three-year-old led in the early stages but ultimately paid the price for being allowed to do too much too soon over a shorter six-furlong trip, and he ran out of steam on the run-in.
Hayley Turner is booked to take his reins for the first time here, presumably in the hope of a more controlled effort, while the step back up to seven furlongs should also help Flag Carrier to ease his way into the race at a more measured pace.
In-form Turner arrives in top nick herself, after piloting five of her last nine rides into the winners’ enclosure, and it would be no surprise to see her bring a bold bid out of Flag Carrier here.
