Kempton racing top tip: Glamorous Express can bag second Polytrack triumph

Nine runners will line up for the 1730 at Kempton on Wednesday but it doesn’t look like a wide-open field with the top four in the betting looking far more capable.

Wake Up Harry tops the market but hasn’t shown anything over six furlongs to merit backing, although he did win over seven last time out.

Big R is also receiving support in the market but he’s won just one of his 12 starts and it was hardly the most testing affair, so he also looks like a risky bet.

McCauley’s Tavern is next at around 5/1 at the time of writing so at least there’s some meat on the bones of that price.

He was narrowly beaten over course and distance at the tail end of February but he has produced a comfortable win here since the turn of the year. The standard of this rain is similar but with a favourable draw.

Glamorous Express was a winner at Lingfield in November and his price is slightly surprising and certainly offers some value.

He’s a very lightly-raced sprinter with five appearances on the Polytrack, three promising efforts and the pick of the bunch was a win over six furlongs at Lingfield.

The pick of the runners he saw off on that occasion was rated 66 so there’s little difference between the quality of that race and this one.
