Kempton racing top tip: Course and distance winner Rhythm N Rock to produce his best

They’ve saved the best for second last at Kempton on Sunday as 11 runners go to post to contest this one-mile handicap.

We suspect there’s evidence enough to suggest the winner comes from the top four in the betting but you can’t rule out the majority of a very competitive field.

King’s Code and King’s Vanity are neck and neck in the betting for David Evans and Andrew Balding respectively.

Plantadream is a relative outsider at roughly 14/1 in the betting but he’s a course and distance winner, while Bet Me is on the back of success in France and goes for a new yard.

Top Secret is a course and distance winner, Revolutionise is a course winner and Stately Home produced a career-best last time out yet is only up 2lbs.

Co-favourite King’s Code picked up his sixth win as recently as June and the major appeal with him is the level of consistency. He’s placed in nine of 11 starts since the turn of 2023.

King’s Vanity has the advantage of some experience at Kempton having finished second of seven in a novice here and the suspicion is the best is yet to come at this distance.

However, our eyes are drawn to Rhythm N Rock. He’s a course and distance winner, which is valuable experience the others at the top of he market don’t have.

Kempton is a preferred stomping ground for John Butler’s horse having made back-to-back appearances here including a promising third last time out.

The most promising thing about that strong run is he finished well, looking like he had more to give, and will have benefited from his first outing since October.
