Huntingdon racing tips: Best bets for Sunday, March 3

13:55 (Huntingdon) Mixedwave

MIXEDWAVE (2) is expected to produce another big performance at his local track. In excellent form with two wins and three placings past five outings including a track and trip success.

COMMITTEE OF ONE (6) placed twice last three runs including a narrow defeat at Leicester. Worth considering switching to open company.

GRIZZLY JAMES (3) showed fair form when third at Plumpton in a. Place. MAASAI WARRIOR (5) is an each way contender. Freshened with a three month lay-off after being pulled up at Hereford.

 

14:30 (Huntingdon) Wilful

WILFUL (7) makes jumping debut for leading connections. Winner of a Catterick jumpers flat in December and expected to produce a big effort.

SOUTH OMO ZONE (6) will be race fit for a first hurdle run following a narrow success in a jumpers flat at Hereford. Conditional claim offers further assistance.

NO MORE BOLERO (5) was fifth in a novice hurdle at Sandown Park last time and drops in class. Hurdling experience a plus. BALHAMBAR (1) could sneak a placing.

 

15:05 (Huntingdon) Royal Rhythm

ROYAL RHYTHM (3) received a short freshen since a 4.5L success at Wetherby in December. Conditional claims valuable weight. Capable of following up.

DAMARTA (2) aims for back to back victories following a 7L success in an apprentice handicap hurdle at Southwell. Steps up in class. Mark is less workable than main selection.

JACK'S A LEGEND (5) was a wide margin victor of a Southwell novice handicap hurdle late November. Place chance fresh. JIPCOT (1) holds each way claims after a third at Wetherby during November tackling fences.

 

15:40 (Huntingdon) Lounge Lizard

LOUNGE LIZARD (2) placed twice past three outings including a very strong second in a Class 1 Cheltenham handicap chase. Could prove superior to these rivals.

DIBBLE DECKER (7) appeared to enjoy testing conditions taking a Wincanton contest over 2m4f last time. Aims for back to back victories with ground expected to be tough.

EXIMIA (6) resumes after a five month absence. Brings some interesting form in France including a fifth in a Listed handicap hurdle. GENERAL MEDRANO (4) was a two-time winner earlier in the campaign. Switches to open company.

 

16:15 (Huntingdon) Nimbus Boy

NIMBUS BOY (2) could benefit from a conditional claim. Winner earlier in the season and has not been disgraced in two starts since including a fourth at Market Rasen last time. Top chance.

PIPERS CROSS (5) finished second on all three starts since a break. Only denied a neck attempting a thirteen runner Leicester contest in latest. Worth considering.

CHAUFFEUR DRIVEN (1) carries top weight and switches to handicaps following a third attempting a novice hurdle at Exeter. WATCHOUTITSCOOKIE (7) resumed after a three month lay-off with a second at this venue. Place.

 

16:45 (Huntingdon) Ma Shantou

MA SHANTOU (3) made a promising start to career running third at Fairyhouse in December and is expected to shed the maiden tag.

RETETI (5) was a useful third behind a good horse here when debuting. Experience at this course could be an advantage.

CARISMATIC SOLDIER (1) is a newcomer representing top yard. Watch market for best guide. EXTRA COVER (4) holds each way claims on racecourse debut. Benefits from a mares allowance.
