Kempton racing tip (1900): Well rested Prop Forward can justify favourite tag

A bumper prize has tempted a talented lineup of 12 runners to contest the 1900 at Kempton on Wednesday, headlined by bookies favourite Prop Forward.

He’s clear of the others in the odds having won three of four starts on the all-weather, the most recent of which came on this course seven months ago.

Fresh is second in the betting but has yet to get off the mark in 2023. Despite that, the in-form James Fanshawe’s horse has shaped well on several occasions and likes the all-weather.

The field is littered with winners over course, course and distance, like rank outsider Danger Alert. He runs for new trainer George Baker and is off the back of an extended break.

Baldomero, Justcallmepete and Watchya have all won over this distance and in the right circumstances could mount a challenge.

Aramis Grey was the runner-up last race and has a few pounds of extra weight to contend with her, but she looks in good form and finished second here four weeks ago.

Fivethousandtoone is another runner who has been out for some time but he showed great all-weather form last season and Andrew Balding is going well.
