Hereford best bet (1500): Wide to West to defy the odds

Hereford goes ahead

The Tipstrr camp have been taking a look at what is set to be a wide open race at Hereford and it's one of the outsiders who is attracting attention in a race that will offer plenty of each-way value.

In a wide open market, it's Time For A Pint who has taken the lead and there is strong reason to believe that he could be a contender here.

Despite not finishing his last race at Southwell, he eased to victory at Catterick in the race prior to that and clearly has talent, but doesn't offer the best value to punters here.

Venetia Williams has had an excellent season so far and Natty Night has the potential to be in contention here due to the upward trajectory of form that he has displayed in recent weeks.

A second at the same course in early January was followed by a win at Leicester 22 days ago, where he finished well after being reluctant to line up.

Seymour Promise is looking to claim his maiden win and put to rest an erratic period of form since his return from wind surgery.

On his return he was never in contention and finished eighth, trailing the leaders by some distance, then he was pulled up after initially going well at Exeter.

However, his most recent outing at Worcester showed promise, finishing narrowly behind Haston Clermont and the impressive seven-year-old was asked questions all the way to the finish.

The horses all previously mentioned have a very strong chance at Hereford today, but the Tipstrr camp have edged towards the each-way market, given that there is strong value elsewhere.

While Wide To West looks very lonely on the fringes of the market, he has shown potential in his six races under rules so far.

He showed ability in his three 3-mile Irish point-to-points, coming third in one of them postmarking 85.

Under rules he has been allowed to be brought along slowly, running over shorter trips in his maidens, including twice over 2 miles.

Wide to West tends to jump to his right and looks to struggle going left-handed, so it was strange that connections have run him three times in his handicaps going left-handed.

They also moved him quickly over chases, which he is bred to do, and two runs ago jumped well and showed greenness, but showed determination to keep running on under pressure for the last mile to only go down by eight lengths. That was going left-handed, and his right-handed jumping was again against him.

He suffered a breathing problem last time and was down the field, but they have given him a wind op since and today he looks interesting going right-handed off a good looking mark of 74.

Suggested Bet: Wide To West each-way in the 15:00 at Hereford
