Hereford

Planet Sport Bet are back at Hereford to sponsor another day of racing on Wednesday, November 29 and the Planet Sport tipsters want to point you in the right direction to land some big winners.

Let's kick things off with some details on our selected races at Hereford, and we've got a full list of selections at the bottom of the page.

Don't forget to check out the full racecard, results and live odds in Planet Sport's racing live centre.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

(Please be aware selections could become non-runners after article's first publication)

12:20 (Hereford) Reverend Hubert

Reverend Hubert looks interesting in the Get Emma’s Offers At planetsportbet.com Novices’ Hurdle.

Trained by Charles Byrnes in Ireland, he has a rating of 134 already, which would usually be enough to win most novice hurdles in the UK.

He is, however, up against the promising Magic Seven trained by Jonjo O’Neill, so we will have a much better idea of where they both stand after this race.

12:50 (Hereford) Man Of The Sea

Man Of The Sea improved from a reappearance fifth on the flat to finish runner-up hurdling at Market Rasen.

Will continue to progress and can take advantage of apprentice claim in the Racing Specials Every Day At Planetsportbet Handicap Hurdle.

Mactavish bids for a hat-trick switching to open company after a victory in a novice handicap hurdle, so will be a threat.

Angel's Voice could come forward for a reappearance fifth among juvenile hurdle company at Sedgefield. Has a chance of a place from bottom of the weights.

Great Ocean also holds each-way claims following a fifth at Wincanton.

14:00 (Hereford) Casa No Mento

Casa No Mento made a winning start to her hurdling career scoring at Market Rasen by six lengths.

The five-year-old is an exciting prospect representing Nigel Twiston-Davies' yard and can claim a third win under rules in the Best Odds Guaranteed At Planetsportbet Novices' Hurdle.

Jupiter And Mars delivers first hurdle outing and holds some fair form on the flat including a second at Beverley in August.

Global Esteem brings each-way claims based on a good fourth tackling a large field Kempton Park novice hurdle.

Muskoka rates a place contender if coming forward for reappearance third.

14:35 (Hereford) Grivetana

Of those seven remaining starters, four are likely to be sent off at double-digit odds.

Ooh Betty and Addosh, both of whom have shown some promise, but would have to raise their performance significantly to squeeze their noses into the two-place frame here.

The bookies therefore have us lined up for a showdown between the three market leaders, all of whom appear to carry a mixture of appeal and vulnerability at around 9/4, depending where your interests lie.

Flight Of Freedom has already chalked up a win and a runner-up spot from her two October outings and should go well again here, but she is sure to be hard-pushed by the Charles Byrne-trained Redwood Queen.

This capable mare lived up to her well-backed favourite tag when winning at Sligo in August, returning to action seven weeks ago with an equally promising third of 18 at Punchestown, while Finn Lambert’s five-pound allowance keeps her on a very competitive mark here.

Pick of the three, however appears to be top-rated Grivetana, saddled by Paul Nicholls, whose red-hot yard only has two horses in action on Wednesday, both here at Hereford.

Nicholls’ daughter Olive is on board, and her seven-pound claim should boost the chances of this top-weighted mare.

She should be better off for that post-wind-op run at Newbury three weeks ago, when she finished a respectable but never-threatening sixth of 11 over a shorter trip.

That recent outing was in a 0-130 handicap, and Grivetana finished fourth of 10 in 0-145 company earlier in the year, so this drop in grade to 0-120 makes her of significant interest here.

15:10 (Hereford) Pilot Show

The unsurprising favourite is likely to be Robert Walford’s Hipop Des Onglais, who enjoyed a promising campaign last winter and carried on where he left off with a season debut success in a minor event at Fontwell in early October.

Of his likely main challengers, Langley Hundred looked useful when finishing runner-up on chasing debut at Ludlow three weeks ago, and he could be a threat if his jumping improves further.

It might be worth taking a chance on another of the market leaders, Paseo, who can be somewhat unpredictable but who did win when fresh on season return this time last year at Ludlow.

His trainer Venetia Williams is saddling winners for fun just lately (7/20 over the last week), with jockey Charlie Deutsch on board for most of them, and the in-form team will have high hopes for Paseo here.

Should any of the principals falter, then there are other capable performers ready to make the frame.

While there’s been a smattering of support among for bottom-weight Cobra Commander, most have gravitated towards the Warren Greatrex-trained six-year-old Pilot Show.

A successful point-to-pointer, Pilot Show showed modest promise over hurdles before winning at his first attempt over larger fences on his chasing debut at Catterick last December.

His results for the remainder of that campaign were something of a mixed bag, but he made an encouraging return to action at Stratford earlier this month, finishing runner-up of 11 over 22 furlongs, and this longer three-mile trip could well suit even more.

The in-form yard of Greatrex is showing 95 units of profit against the market from 72 runners this season and confirmed that form when teaming up with stable jockey James Bowen to land a 16/5 winner at Southwell on Tuesday.

15:45 (Hereford) Jackpot Des Bordes

There will be a few in the line-up looking to have their say in proceedings, although with only a combined eight previous outings from the nine starters, recent form can hardly be a guideline here.

Four-year-old Doeshefitthebill is most likely to upset the early market, and he certainly appears to have the pedigree to develop into a productive hurdling project for Jonjo O’Neill’s yard.

Of those with previous track experience, The Grey Man showed some ability when fifth of ten at Warwick in May, while Timeforarum could well respond positively to a wind op since displaying rawness in two outings around this course in February.

All of which leads us to the strongly-fancied market leader, Jackpot Des Bordes, who lines up here as the odds-on favourite for the red-hot Paul Nicholls stable.

In-form trainer Nicholls has only sent two runners out today, both here at Hereford, with the other (the well-fancied Grivetana) ridden by his daughter, Olive, two races before this one.

Jackpot Des Bordes will be piloted by Harry Cobden, fresh from his four-timer for Nicholls at Ascot on Saturday, and a seemingly significant booking here as his only ride of the day.

His presence could come down to a stable jockey obligation, but neither Nicholls nor Cobden are likely to line up here unless they have high hopes of winning, along with a keen interest in the progress of this particular horse as a jumping prospect down the line.

The four-year-old was available at around the even-money mark overnight, but is already as short as 4/6 and that tightening price suggests that connections are expecting an impressive debut performance here.

Hereford selections in full:

HEREFORD: 12.20 Reverend Hubert, 12.50 Man Of The Sea, 1.25 King Otis, 2.00 Casa No Mento, 2.35 Grivetana, 3.10 Pilot Show, 3.45 Jackpot Des Bordes.
