Harry Cobden’s Planet Sport Bet blog: Burdett Road best juvenile I’ve sat on

Harry Cobden
Planet Sport Bet ambassador Harry Cobden looks ahead to Wednesday's action at Chepstow.
I don’t know too much about Largy Poet (12.00pm) but he schooled well in the week and gave me quite a nice feel too. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was competitive here.
Next up is Jackpot D’Athou (12.30pm). He’s obviously got a penalty for his win at Chepstow the other day but he looks to have improved since then. He’s a big, strong horse who is only going to get better in time and he’d be among my better chances of getting on the scoresheet.
Quel Destin (1.05pm) is a brilliant little horse and I’m looking forward to riding him. He won nicely at Fontwell last time where he travelled and jumped really well. It doesn’t look the most competitive of races with only a few runners and conditions should suit our horse.
I can’t wait to ride Burdett Road in the Finale Hurdle (2.10pm). You couldn’t have been more impressed with his win at Cheltenham and James Owen seems very happy with him at home. He should handle the testing ground as he was fine on it last time.
I’ve sat on some pretty good juveniles but I think he’s the best of them. This horse is a different kettle of fish as he’s Flat-bred and is all about speed. I couldn’t have been more impressed with him at Cheltenham. I was always confident he was going to win as I had so much underneath me. He should take plenty of beating and then it’s all systems go to the Triumph.
It’s a very competitive Welsh National (2.50pm) but I do think Complete Unknown has a serious chance. He schooled well in the week and has come out of Newbury well as he didn’t have a hard race there as I knew our fate from a long way out. The ground won’t be a problem and I don’t see the trip being one either, so he ticks a lot of boxes.
At the end of the day, he’s a class horse in a handicap. That’s always a massive plus and he’s near top-weight for a reason. Gerri Colombe is second favourite for a Gold Cup and he didn’t beat us by far at Aintree and we’re running in a handicap. I’m really looking forward to it and I think he’s a massive player.
My final ride at Chepstow is Kap Boy in the bumper (3.55pm). He was one of our first bumper horses this season and he’ll have improved immensely for that run. He was very green from a long way out and pure ability got him over the line. He’s a horse we like a lot and one with another great chance.
